Snowingham

Evan Bang put it best when he told me Bellingham with snow is like a whole other world.  And with the right light, and some nice bright snowflakes, a spacey looking starry scene unfolded and it seemed the planets aligned just enough for us to get some snow to hit a rail he had been scoping out.  With a solid rope, 4WD and a good grip, a quick lurch got the guys going fast enough for a nice rail session.  First rail shots of the year! So I'm a little behind, but hopefully make up for it with these,

Now go do something in the snow besides crash into curbs, like most things in life, as soon as its gone, you'll want it back.

Back in the saddle again...

La Nina has returned in case you hadn't noticed, and chances are, if you live anywhere in the PNW you have.  With the joy of frozen car doors, icy roads, and west side drivers also come the joys of pow shots, pillows, and general shreddage as well.  Working out the rust on my board legs, as well as my trigger finger, I got to have a killer pow day at Baker with friend and shred professor Chris Bowlin of Northwest Riders and some of his crew; Ian, Ezra and Pat. It didn't take long for hoots to be hollered and rag dolls to be impersonated, in trying to catch up on a months worth of lost turns.  Me and Chris snuck around for some artsy fartsy photo bonding, and then ditched the gear to enjoy the rest of the day with a killer crew.

Here's to La Nina, the one we're sure glad didn't get away..

Allen Stone and opener Kris Orlowski

On a current personal assignment covering northwest music, I had a blast on WWU's campus catching the funkiest concert I've seen lately by Allen Stone and openers Kris Orlowski and Eclecticity in the VU multi purpose room.  Catch Allen's performance on Conan and Kris's music and Eclecticity here.

Last minute wedding for the last of the year!

As a photographer it is rare that every single thing I previsualize, or hope for ever completely fully comes true.  Its encouraging to think however, every once in a while you get really lucky.  Grace and Nathan's small, country wedding was that for me, near Leavenworth on the beautiful Icicle River in the home that Grace grew up in.  One of the most short notice weddings I've ever booked, within less than two months of the day, It was also one of the most stylish weddings. The sun set perfectly over gorgeous icicle ridge as a storm rolled in, exactly as we finished the final outdoor family images, turning into a gray torrent of wind and rain.  I could not have been more blessed to work with them though and had an awesome time literally in their backyard watching them be them be goofy and getting some of my most favorite wedding images.

Heres to celebrating with those you love most, and who are closest to you.
