Brand Spankin' New

Got to hit up an ultra secret classified government project location with local mountain bike talents Nick Marvik, Matt Orlando and videographer Ben White yesterday.  After clearing the armed checkpoints, and bribing a man known only as "Uncle Rico" we headed up the mountain into a few inches of snow, making me realize just how hardcore these duece-wheeled rippers are. 

The Hardcore was confirmed after they shoveled and raked for a good 30 minutes, excavating a sweet stump gap, out of the snow, ripping rock gardens in between, and bouncing off of the (this is where I get to use my newly acquired mountain biking slang) 'Baby Heads' as we headed down hitting spots on the way. 

Finished the day with some sweet lines at eye bleeding speed and only one slide into home plate on the day made for one of the most killer times I've had shooting this year.

Mt Herman

Had a killer time riding 5 of the last 7 days of a week, getting some of the best lines I've ever had.  But getting to meet some new friends to ride with has been the best part.  Experiences are best shared with people who are as stoked to be there as you are.

And on the third day.....

.....My legs were finally shot.

Got to immerse myself in the proverbial prodigal daughter La Nina once more, as she returned from a several week hiatus. (Good word, I know)  Her vacation left her fat, happy and ready to release the beautiful goodness upon Baker's terrain... anyways this President's Day weekend was rad. It was going off at Baker with blower pow, nice drops, and a little kicker sesh to finish  up a weekend with some of the most fun I've ever had snowboarding.
I hope you've found yourself in the mountains lately, figuratively and literally.

The Vancover Aquarium

Go to spend a day at the Vancouver Aquarium learning about how cool the world is.

The aquarium is an awesome place that seems to be only a few animals short of being a zoo.  With hundreds of tropical fish, amazonian species, local northwest species, seals, sea lions, jellyfish, frogs, parrots, bats and even a sloth! Definitely do not forget the awesome viewing areas for the Beluga whales, dolphins and Daisy, the harbor porpoise.
